Level 4 Diploma in Counselling
Entry on to this course is subject to completing a recognised Level 3 Certificate in Counselling course.
This diploma course may be offered as an evening course in which it will take 2 years to complete or as a daytime course in which it will take 1 year to complete. It is expected that students will attend a residential weekend during the course.
The course has been developed by Carol Harmston-Dean for JHD Counselling Services and it is accredited directly with The National Counselling Society.
Course content: Level 4
• Developing a core Humanistic model
• Working with Children and Young People
• Preparing for working with clients safely and ethically
• Working within a Counselling Organisation
Methods of Assessment
Journals, Presentations, Skills Practice, Tutorial, Research project, Case study, 100 supervised client hours, placement manager report and supervisor report. It is also expected that students will attend one residential weekend during the course.
Venue: JHD Counselling Training Centre, Chesterton Community College, Chesterton, Cambridge
Cost: £3500 per person (for discount see payment options below), all inclusive, no hidden extras. A non-refundable deposit of £250 (in addition to the 3500) is required in July/August prior to the course starting. The fee covers 6 mandatory units of study.
Payment Options: In full, upfront for either 1 year or 2 year course OR
in halves at the beginning of each year of a 2 year course OR
Students may also pay in monthly instalments for the duration of the course. For the 1 year course the fee of £3500 over 12 months equals monthly amounts of £291.67 September 2017 to August 2018 inclusive. For the 2 year course the fee of £3500 over 24 months equals monthly amounts of £145.83 September 2017 to August 2019 inclusive.

Refreshments: Refreshments are not available, attendees are advised to bring their own food and drink.

Students will get a facilitator for process group and in the final year, supervisors to support their placements. Help and support is also given to secure placements.
