Elaine Brown

Hi there,

My aim is always to be a kind, empathetic and respectful counsellor,  to treat others as I to would like to be treated and to ensure that my clients feel supported, heard and listened to in a safe and therapeutic space.

I have worked in the private, public and charity sectors as well as in voluntary  roles,  in the USA and mainland Europe.  I primarily worked with young people both in the Connexions Career Services in Cambridge and at a Youth Centre in Kent where we were able to provide a safe space for LGBT+ Young  People. I also worked at Canterbury  Christchurch University in a very busy Student Support & Well Being Department supporting many local and international students, studying both academic and vocational subjects

Since working for Relate I have supported students at a BESD School and an Academy in Kent.  Also, worked with couples, individuals and young people at the Relate Centres both in North and East Kent.  I use the tools that I have gained from my own training, primarily with Relate from a systemic theoretical perspective, but always with a person-centred approach.

My main goal and aim as a Counsellor is for you as my client/s is to feel heard and understood.  To enable and empower you to step forward, freer and lighter with your feelings.   I am here to support you in the best way I can and to provide a safe space to talk, in a confidential setting.  This will probably be online in the comfort of your own space, with no need to worry about finding where to go, congested roads or parking fees!  Life is a journey, let me be your guide and help with those traffic jams of life

I have regular supervision in accordance with the ethical framework I adhere to as a Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (bacp) and the National Counselling Society (NCS).
